The Mooresville Downtown Commission (MDC) is a non-profit organization that exists to provide leadership dedicated to the improvement of Downtown Mooresville as outlined by specific boundaries. The MDC was formed in 1987 and is part of the NC Main Street Program.
Our organization facilitates downtown development, creates promotions, plans and implements events, supports preservation activities and serves as a clearing house of downtown information. We strive to enhance the appearance, desirability and vitality of this very important economic and social center.
Per the bylaws, the MDC Board of directors is comprised of not less than 12 nor more than 18 elected directors and 3 ex-officio members. In addition, up to three At-Large Directors may be appointed. Board members serve voluntary three-year terms and represent a diverse population of interests, including downtown merchants, property owners, businesses, educational institutions and other community organizations. The MDC Board meets the first Wednesday of every month at 1:00pm in the Charles Mack Citizens Center*.
We are always looking for volunteers and committee members - please contact us if you are interested.
*Meeting may be changed due to holiday or location changed if Charles Mack Citizens Center is unavailable.
