The Mooresville Downtown Commission (MDC) is a non-profit organization that exists to provide leadership dedicated to the improvement of Downtown Mooresville as outlined by specific boundaries. The MDC was formed in 1987 and is part of the NC Main Street Program. Our organization facilitates downtown development, creates promotions, plans and implements events, supports preservation activities and serves as a clearing house of downtown information. We strive to enhance the appearance, desirability and vitality of this very important economic and social center.

If Downtown is the heart of Mooresville, the Mooresville Downtown Commission (MDC) is its pulse. The MDC is a coalition of merchants, property owners, volunteers, neighbors and local leaders who work together to promote, cultivate, advocate and care for Downtown Mooresville. The MDC acts as a conduit between property owners, businesses, community leaders, and community organizations to keep Downtown a vibrant asset for the Town of Mooresville. Through the efforts of the MDC and its volunteers, events large and small are created and hosted. The MDC also actively promotes Downtown Mooresville to the public. In 2007, their custom-made Downtownie™ program was recognized by the State of North Carolina and the NC Main Street Center with an award for Best Innovation.
