All Month Long - Spring Into Downtown!
Happiness is BLOOMING in Downtown! Brawley Garden Center and Downtown Mooresville partnered to bring a gloriously charming #springintodowntown display to JF Moore Park. (Located at the corner of Main Street & Center Ave.)
It's a perfect spot to grab a selfie or family photo! Come wander through the magic that Brawley Garden Center worked so diligently to create. AND check out their awesome video about the display on Instagram!
June 26 – The Great Race
Downtown Mooresville is playing host as a stop on the National 2021 Great Race Rally as it travels from an Antonio, TX to Greenville, SC, bringing 120 of the world’s finest antique automobiles straight into the heart of Mooresville!
The Great Race event will take place from 5pm – 9pm with participating cars beginning to arrive at approximately 5:30pm* and continue to arrive every minute for two hours. The “Spirit of Mooresville” car will arrive between 5pm – 5:30pm* and in the tradition of this race, is a vintage 1940 Ford Coupe powered by a 292 cu in Mercury Flathead V8 built and driven by Don Miller retired President of Penske Racing and current Chairman of the NC Auto Racing Hall of Fame, here in Mooresville.
Each stop on The Great Race is free to the public and spectators will be able to visit with the participants and to look at the cars for several hours. It is common for kids to climb in the cars for a first-hand look. The Great Race participants cars will remain parked on Main Street until approximately 8:00pm. *estimated times
A local car show preceding the Great Race arrival will take place from 12pm – 4pm with a DJ, music, great restaurants, and beer gardens on the street. The event is free to attend; separate costs for food/drinks. The car show display is limited to 75 VIP parking spots and a $25 registration is required per car*; proceeds will benefit the Dove House Children’s Advocacy Center. The local car show and the Great Race will take place on Main Street between Center Ave. & Iredell Ave. These two blocks of Main Street will be closed from 11am – 9pm.
